WelcomeThe Columbia Music Teachers Association (CMTA) is a non-profit professional organization for independent and collegiate music teachers, dedicated to the enhancement of the art of teaching musical skills and understanding. We are affiliated with the South Carolina Music Teachers Association (SCMTA) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
The members of CMTA adhere to the code of ethics established by the Music Teachers National Association, and are dedicated to the advancement of musical knowledge and education. We maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and personal integrity and strive to pursue the highest level of expertise by maintaining our professional abilities in teaching and performing. We endeavor to encourage, guide and develop the musical potential of each student as well as interact with a professional attitude and integrity toward colleagues in our profession. |
Meetings
Our meetings are held on the 3rd Friday of each month from September through April, excluding December. We meet at 10:00 A.M. at Rice Music House, 3214 Devine Street,Columbia, SC in the 2nd floor recital hall.
Meetings consist of programs beginning at 10:00 A.M. which provide opportunities for members to further their own education or learn about new materials and technology available to the music teacher.
